Tour Details

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trekking Route is one of the favourite destinations in the world. Besides, it is one of the top ten trekking trails around the world. The Trek is a tremendous mix of outstanding mountain views, traditional remote village life and thick rhododendron and bamboo forest ecosystems.

The ABC trek starts from the beautiful city of Pokhara and leads to Tikkhedunga, Ulleri, Ghorepani and beyond through lush forests and farmland to narrow gorges overlooked by the mighty Hiunchuli and Machhapuchru. (Fishtail Mountain.)

This famous trail will introduce you to the actual Gurung and Magar cultures and their warm and welcoming personalities. You will realize local people living a simple life in the mountain village where Buddhism influences each and every tradition.
Throughout the way to ABC, various species of birds and wildlife can be seen, happily living in this lush forest, whilst you enjoy breath-taking views of the mountains of the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre. The ultimate goal is to reach ABC where you will be encapsulated by a mountainous wonderland, being surrounded by the some of the world’s highest and most beautiful mountains. You would definitely be amazed and fall in love with this region and be blown away by the whole journey.

The ABC trek also visits Poon Hill, where it gives you amazing mountain views, beautiful sun rise and some perfect photo opportunities. There are some potential challenging days to reach the ABC altitude of 4130 meters, including rocky trails and an ascent of 3300 stone steps to Ulleri and Tikkhedunga, but your efforts will pay by the magnificent views of mountains. On the way returning to Pokhara we stop at Jhinu where you can relax your tired muscles in the natural hot baths. In overall it is an amazing journey.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu!
We will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel, and just relax for the rest of the day to recover from your long journey.
Accommodation: Kathmandu 3 star hotel.

Day 2Meeting & Kathmandu valley Sightseeing

You will meet with your trekking guide, shopping for your journey and visit Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, Swaymbhunath and Patan Durbar Square, cultural and historical sights of the Kathmandu Valley.
Accommodation: Kathmandu 3 star hotel.

Day 3Kathmandu to Pokhara By Bus.

Duration of Travel: 6-7hrs Approx.
Things to see: Exploring the route to Pokhran, stunning Fewa lake and beautiful lakeside town and enjoying the views of the Annapurnas.
Accommodation: Pokhara 3 star hotel.

Day 4From Phokhara to Nayapul by bus (2hrs Approx.) then trek to Tikhedunga.

Duration of walking: 3-4hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 1540m.
Terrain: Easy route, Gentle inclines, well defined paths, riverbank trails.
Views on offer: The towering, snow-capped Annapurna range.
Highlights: Tasting the sweet, local oranges, walking alongside the Bhurungdi Khola.
Things to see: Traditional villages, orange groves and rice fields.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 5Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani.

Hours walking: 6-7hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 2810m
Terrain: Moderate trek, Stone staircase, steep inclines, Uphill.
Mountain Views: Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), Gandharba Chuli and Annapurana II and III.
Highlights: Conquering the 3300 steps to Ulleri to enjoy magnificent views.
Things to see: Rhododendron and oak forests, langur monkeys and musk deer.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 6Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Tadhapani

Hours of walking: 5-6hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 3210m at Poon Hill and 2700 at Tadhapani.
Terrain: Moderate route which has Steep, hilly descents and jungle paths.
Mountain Views: Panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Highlights: Reaching the top of Poon Hill for amazing, panoramic views.
Things to see: Poon Hill sun raise,The village of Durali and lots of langur monkeys.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 7Tadhapani to Chomrong.

Duration of walking: 4-5hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 2170m.
Terrain: Moderate route which has steep descents, forest trails.
Mountain Views: Mt. Machhapuchhre and Mt. Annapurna South.
Highlights: The warm welcome of the Gurung people in the traditional villages.
Thing to see: Beautiful terrain, Farmland and local Gurung villages.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 8Chomrong to Himalaya.

Duration of walking: 4-6hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 2580.
Terrain: Moderate route which has steep descents, dirt and forest tracks.
Mountain Views: The Annapurna range.
Highlights: Crossing the Chomrong Khola on the remarkable suspension bridge.
Things to see: Rhododendron and walnut trees, wild bamboo.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 9Himalaya to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC)

Duration of walking: 5-6hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 3700m.
Terrain: Moderate Route which has gentle descents followed by some steep ascents, stone steps and rocky paths.
Mountain Views: Machhapuchhre and many snow-capped peaks.
Highlights: Reaching MBC and enjoying the amazing views.
Things to see: Beautiful trail and Lophorous birds, the national bird of Nepal.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 10MBC to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).

Duration of walking: 2-2.5hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 4110m.
Terrain: Steep inclines, rocky tracks, there may be snow depending on the time of year.
Mountain Views: Once you reach ABC, you will be encapsulated by high mountains as far as the eye can see.
Highlights: Congratulations you reached the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC).
Things to see: Mt. Annapurna I II III, Mt Machapuchru and the Annapurna Glacier.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 11ABC to Bamboo.

Duration of walking: 5-6hrs Approx.
Elevation reached: 2340m.
Terrain: Moderate Trek, steep descents, rocky tracks, forest and riverbank trails.
Mountain Views: The Annapurna Range and many more mountains.
Highlights: Watching the sunrise bathe the Annapurna sanctuary before we begin our descent.
Things to see: The Annapurna glacier and the Modi Khola River as you descend.
Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 12Bamboo to Jhinu.

Hours of Walking: 5.5.
Elevation reached: 1780m.
Terrain: Easy to difficult route which has a hilly ascent to Sinuwa then well defined tracks, descending to Jhinu.
Views on offer: The River Valley and High Mountain peaks in the distance.
Highlights: Relax bathing in the natural hot springs at Jhinu.
Things to see: Natural hot springs, Chomrong Khola, thick forests, and the village of Chomrong Accommodation: Teahouse.

Day 13Jhinu to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.

Duration of walking: 6-7hrs Approx. (1.5 hour drive to Pokhara.)
Elevation reached: 1070m at Nayapul and 850m at Pokhara.
Terrain: Gentle descents, riverbank trails.
Highlights: final day of walking in the Annapurna region, Congratulations on completing your trek. Time for celebration in Phokhara.
Accommodation: 3 stars hotel in Pokhara.

Day 14Drive back to Kathmandu.

Note: We use standard tourist bus for Pokhara Kathmandu route, which is 200 km and take about 7 hours. Flight option is available at an extra cost.
Accommodation: Hotel/B&B in Kathmandu.

Day 15Departure form Kathmandu (Goodbye and farewell from Nepal! Hopping to see you again)
