Mera Peak (6,461m/21,190ft) is one of the highest trekking peaks in Nepal.

A tough but rewarding expedition, which takes us away from the trails leading to Everest Base Camp to the sparsely-inhabited Hinku Valley. The trails Leeds through a beautiful high alpine environment, where Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in Nepal at 6461m, towers over the valley. The expedition is a non-technical climb, which anyone with ice-axe and crampon experience can attempt, however Our experienced guides will familiarize you before climbing the peak. With physical stamina, good acclimatization and plenty of willpower, you can reach the summit of this beautiful Mera peak. At the summit we are rewarded with amazing views of five of the six highest mountains in the world – Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu: which makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport.

Complimentary airport transfers are provided, our representative will be waiting for you with a Trek Holiday sign at the airport exit, the representative will then transfer you to your hotel. After check in and depending on your flight schedule, there may be an opportunity to explore the immediate vicinity of the hotel and get acclimatized to this bustling city, or you may prefer to recover from your journey by relaxing in the hotel

Day 2Sightseeing in Kathmandu and final shopping and preparation day.

We offer you short trip to cultural and historical sites around Kathmandu valley: Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa and Thamel. You can also do some shopping during the touring. After sightseeing we head back to hotel and get our clothing and trekking equipment’s ready and prepare for the trek.

Day 3Fly to Lukla (2840m), trek to Chuthanga (3170m)

From Kathmandu domestic airport we flight to Lukla. We will meet porters at the Lukla airport and final short out bags and begin the journey. Today you will be walking for approximately 3.5 hours through small settlements, forests with juniper trees and some rhododendrons (depending on the season). Overnight in Teahouse

Day 4Trek to Thuli- Kharkha (4300M) 5-6 hrs

After breakfast we begin with steep climb to cross over high rocky ridges of Kalo and Naulekh Himal the crossing Zatwar-la and Zatwar-Og passes of over 4,300 m high to reach into Inkhu valley with overnight camp at Thuli-Kharka around grazing area.

Day 5Trek to Kothe (3840m). 5-6 hrs

We start the trek early leaving Thuli Kharkha behind. We walk through the main trail to Mera Peak. The trail then runs alongside Majang Khola. Further ahead we catch the trail along the riverside of Hinku Khola. We walk further ahead and in a short while come across the river. Passing the bridge, we finally reach Kothe and get prepare for our night’s stay there.

Day 6Trek to Thangnak (4360m). 3-4 hrs

The trail continues gradually up walking alongside the Hinku Khola. We can enjoy the grand beauty of Mera Peak along our walk. We then come across the well-known Lungsubma Gompa on our way. We will explore around for some time and again continue our walk and finally come to reach at Tangnang before lunch. Today we will give the half day for acclimatization and take rest. Night at Tangnang.

Day 7Trek to Khare. (5045m) 5-6 Hrs

After breakfast, we walk ahead through the glacial trail. The trail takes us to Dig kharka. As we go higher the surrounding views get more stunning. We can see beautiful sight of Charpate Himal on the way. We will continue ascend for further and pass through number of glacial trails. We then finally reach Khare. From here we get the magnificent close view of Mera Peak. We will stop for the night at Khare.

Day 8Rest at Khare for acclimatization (5045m).

Today at ease after a good scenic walk from Lukla, this free and rest day allows you to acclimatize and as well time for some practice with your ice-axe and crampons around the camp, finding perfect place for some exercise on ice and rocks.

Day 9Trek to high camp. (5760m) 5-6 Hrs.

Trails continues towards base camp, From the base camp we have allowed one more camp to make this climb more approachable, morning walk follows across Mera la and then reaching at Mera High Camp in complete wilderness, on reaching at high camp enjoy afternoon at leisure with lunch and preparation for the next early morning climb on top Mera Peak, where our expert guides will scout the route and fixing ropes where necessary to safe guard to avoid any incidental accidents.

Day 10Mera Peak (6476m) Summit and return to Khare. (5045m)

Final destination of the jorney, starting very early before break of dawn, track leads with steep climb but without any technical difficulty a straight-forward climb one can do it with the help of ski poles, nonetheless for safety procedures where all climbers need well equipped with crampons, ice axe, helmets.
After the final afford of high altitude climbing you reaching the top. Congratulation on reaching your dream destination, all the afford and hard works rewards you with outstanding panorama of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho- Oyu all the way to Mt. Kanchenjunga in the eastern horizon. Enjoying marvelous moments feeling in high spirit, then descend on the same route to Khare.

Day 11Spare day for contingency.

In case of unfavorable weather conditions an extra day reserved as contingency, if all goes well this spare can be used on-route Lukla or before to make the walk more enjoyable and comfortable.

Day 12Trek back to Kothe (3840m).

Return journey back to Kothe after a wonderful experience and climb on to Mera Peak, walk will be easier as you lose high altitude and descends gradually to Kothe.

Day 13Trek to Thuli-Kharka (4300m).

The trail continues leading into woodlands we follow the stream down towards the Hinku river we peak the path to reach our last camp of the trip at Thuli- Kharka.

Day 14Trek to Lukla (2840m).

Final day walk of the adventure, the trails leads with climb over high ridge of Naulekh or Kalo Himal including Zatrwa Og and Zatrwa-La passes, after a tough long climb then descend to Chutanga into green areas and forest, After few hours of walk takes you back at Lukla for final overnight around Khumbu and Everest area where you can celebrate the final journey with your guide and porters.

Day 15Fly back to the capital Kathmandu.

Early morning flight back to Kathmandu with panorama of mountains views all the way to Kathmandu, at the airport our staff transfers you back into your hotel where you can have free afternoon to relax after a great and wonderful adventure on Mera Peak Climb and trek.

Day 16Free day in Kathmandu.

Today is a free day in Kathmandu as well as extra day in case of flight cancellation due to weather conditions, which can occur sometimes as Himalaya weather can be unpredictable. If all goes well, enjoy the free day or explore the shops, visit a spa or do some more sightseeing around the bustling Kathmandu streets

Day 17Depart to onward destination.

Time to go home with unforgettable memories and tell your friends and family of the fun and adventure that you had on your trek in Nepal. Or, you could also extend your trip.
